Description: Although most are smaller, these animals can occasionally grow up to 5 inches. They are darker during the day (brownish to gray) than at night (light gray to pasty white). Being darker during the day helps them to absorb warmth from the sun.
Range: Originating in the Mediterranean, this gecko is found in both northern and southern Texas.
Habitat: Usually in human habitations, and in south Texas in trash piles and dumps.
Wild: A variety of small insects.
Zoo: small crickets
